Dear Yoga Family,
I had a wonderful time experiencing White Tantric Yoga and being a Student, spending sacred moments walking with dearest friends, family, and Community!
I went to this wonderful class today in Espanola, New Mexico taught by Guru Bachan Singh. And I just wanted to share with you the treasures he shared about breathing. As taught by Yogi Bhajan.
He spoke on formal and informal practice - changing the habit of breath. Sharing its purposes for:
“Rejuvenation - creating such a power that anyone who looks at you feels healed for mental, physical, spiritual well-being and life.”
Spiritual beings learning to live like an excellent human being.
Finding a way through every block, for example: “I do this and that but my husband won’t. Any excuse to not do.”
Learn to become breath! Informal practice includes the office, parenting, any tricky situation. Just change your breath.
Here are three eleven minute meditations to assist.
Rejuvenation Lotus Mudra: the pinky fingers are the only fingers that touch. Opening the fingers and thumbs wide and placing the mudra at the heart center.
Inhale through the mouth for 3 seconds.
Hold 3 seconds.
Exhale through the nose with 4 strokes.
Increase as you go, open the prana, the breath, expand the rib cage and lungs.
HOW TO DEVELOP THE POWER WITHIN YOU is the next meditation. This meditation gives you the ability to heal others through prayer, touch, and sight. The whole electric magnetic field finds that capacity of RA, MA, DA, SA, SA, SE, SO, HUNG. Hands are out to the sides, palms up, elbows at the rib cage, forearms at 60 degree angle, palms up, cupped slightly. Imagine someone you want to heal, or send a blessing to, or help someone outside of you to find purpose. Your journey consists from your heart to your head.
“One option in your life, only one, it is your choice, and you can divide here and now, you can either live by the light of your own soul or by the darkness of your mind. God, Earth, many options. But you yourself must make a choice, you want to be free, happy, prosperous? “The squeaky wheel gets the oil, who screams the loudest inside of you, intuitive heart, or screaming head. Your choice.”
One question from a student while sharing: “Is it normal for us to laugh?” And the answer from Guru Bachan Singh: “it is normal for you to laugh, for you to cry, for you to shout and scream and leap and sing.”

This Projection is a power of the builder. It combines a sensation-seeker with a pragmatic creative streak that asks, "How can I do something with this?" Everything that is seen is considered a potential for "my purpose." You have seen artists wrap entire islands in pink plastic, and make a pattern of lights across continents to be seen by passing satellites. Research scientists who are building tools from individual atoms are using this Projection when it comes to creating the engineering vision. If this Projection is too strong you can be insensitive to the impact on others and on the environments you interact with. Too weak and you have new theories and perceptions, but not the risk-taking attitude needed to initiate them. House Favorite Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients
one 12 oz. package raw brussels sprouts, halved
2 tablespoons olive oil
a pinch of salt and pepper
a handful of walnuts
a handful of dried cranberries
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons maple syrup
extra olive oil, more salt and pepper, maybe some red pepper flakes if you want to spice things up
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Place brussels sprouts cut-side down directly on a baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Roast brussels sprouts for 15-20 minutes, until cut sides are very brown and some of the leaves are crispy. Add walnuts, mustard, and maple; return to oven for 5-10 minutes to get the walnuts toasted. (You can choose to either add the sauce now, or when the pan comes out of the oven in step 3. If you add it now, it gets kind of baked into the brussels, but if you add it when they’re done baking, it’ll be a little more saucy.)
Remove from oven. Toss with cranberries directly on the baking sheet. Season and serve immediately.
